Halloween

For Halloween, we invited our Bible study group over for a night of costumes, dinner, trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, donut making, and watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

Yum

We were going to make our annual Fall trek to Oak Glen for a little bit of apple picking, but Emma got sick that day. So, Laura tried her hand at making homemade apple cider donuts. They turned out rather well.

Pretty face paint

I got some free tickets to the aquarium, so I took Meg on a little outing. They were doing free face painting, and Meg was eager to participate.

Pumpkin Fun Run

The kid participated again in the annual Pumpkin Fun Run, sponsored by the parks department. Emma and J got first in the respective age groups, and Meg gutted out a second place ribbon.

Soccer

Not to be outdone, here is Meg having an immense amount of fun at her soccer class.

Birthday Girl

Laura's birthday...though I didn't have a seven. I compensated by creating a little mathematical equation.

Football

J
Jonathan played flag football again this year. He played tailback and some wide receiver.

Emma B-Ball

A few shots of Emma playing on the VC elementary girls basketball team. This is the first year there has been a team at the elementary that plays other schools.

Dress up

Laura and her colleague Kari on "Dress like you are 75" at school.

Camping

Our annual Fall camping trip with our FROMAC group. A pretty sunset, Meg and Carter playing in the water, Dave demonstrating his blender attached to a weed whacker engine, a "smore" decorating contest, and the beautiful creation of Jonathan and Olivia.

Fall Festival

A few shots from the Fall Festival at Bethel. Always fun...who doesn't love to ride an elephant and pet a camel?

Dress-up and face paint

The kids had some fun playing dress up with neighbor Kayla. We also stopped by a community art show sponsored by Kingdom Causes and the kids got their faces painted.

More Camping...

Stories by the campfire, pitching practice, and Jack's first camping trip.

Late Summer Camping

A little late Summer camping up near Santa Barbara. Fun in the sun.

Tale of Two Teams

Emma and Jonathan both played ball this summer. Emma's team won the Sportsmanship Award, but unfortunately didn't win much else. Laura co-coached the team and they did improve quite a bit over the course of the season. Jonathan's team won their league and got to play for the city championship on the local cable channel. They lost a tough game 15-12.

Two parties

Meg turned five and had two fun parties. One involved family at home and the other included her buddies at Chuck E. Cheese.

Baseball

Thanks to a generous friend, we were able to take in a Angel game and it was Kid's Run the Bases day. Emma and Jonathan have done that before but it was still fun to be down on the field.

S.S. Lane Victory

Grandma Bea and Papa were in town for Meg's birthday and we took a tour of a WWII ship called the S.S. Lane Victory. It was interesting to see all the exhibits and walk around the ship.
